177 new COVID cases, 116 hospitalised
Jamaica continues to see a rise in COVID-19 cases as of the 1,092 samples tested in the last 24 hours, 177 returned positive results increasing Jamaica's total confirmed cases to 16,250 with 3,538 being active.
Of the new cases, 78 are males and 99 are females, with ages ranging from 3 years to 96 years.
Kingston and St. Andrew recorded the most new cases with 64, followed by Clarendon with 33 and St. Catherine with 30.
Portland was the only parish to not record a new case.
In the meantime, there were 37 more recoveries, increasing the total to 12,174.
Some 116 persons are in hospital with 18 being moderately and 11 critically ill.
According to the Ministry of Health, seven persons are in government quarantine, while 19,974 are quarantined at home.
