Illegal gun and ammunition found in roof, suspect in custody

One man is now in police custody in relation to the seizure of an illegal gun, and ammunition stored in a sock in the roof his room in Heroes Circle, Kingston 4 on Thursday. 

The man was arrested following a special operations conducted by lawmen assigned to the Kingston Central Police Division between 4:30 a.m., and 8:00 a.m.

Reports are that during the operation, the team armed with a search warrant, under the Firearms Act entered the suspect’s home, where a magazine with five 9mm cartridges was found in a sock in the roof of the room occupied by the suspect.

He was arrested for illegal possession of ammunition.

He was subsequently taken into custody, however, his identity is being withheld pending further investigation.
