Man held for chopping Clarendon woman to death
The man suspected of chopping a Clarendon woman to death in Crooked River, in the parish on Monday, is now in police custody.
Police say the suspect was picked up a short while ago in Kingston by the St. Andrew Central police.
Dead is 61-year-old Sharon Cole, a caregiver of Crooked River.
Reports from the Chapelton police are that about 5:10 p.m., Cole got into an argument with a man.
It is alleged that the argument escalated and the man used a machete to chop Cole several times all over her body.
She was rushed to the hospital, and pronounced dead on arrival.
Investigations are ongoing.
