Security guard shot during attempted robbery dies
One of the three security guards who was shot during an attempted robbery in Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth this morning died while undergoing surgery.
This was confirmed by Director of Communications at Guardsman Group, George Overton, who also shared that the other two guards have been treated and released.
Reports are that the guards came under attack by three gunmen after they drove up at a cambio on main street.
A shootout reportedly ensued and both the gunmen and the security guards were shot.
Eyewitnesses say the gunmen then escaped in a white Honda civic motor car.
According to the police the gunmen were unsuccesful in stealing any money, before fleeing the scene.
