Toots wins Best Reggae Album Grammy for his last project 'Got To Be Tough'
Late reggae icon Toots Hibbert has won the 2021 Grammy for Best Reggae Album, for his last work with The Maytals 'Got To Be Tough' which was released just days before he passed away on September 11, 2020.
Toots and the Maytals last won a Grammy Award back in 2005 for their album, 'True Love.'
The nomination was the late singer's fifth Grammy nomination in the reggae category.
He won the award over Buju Banton, Skip Marley, Maxi Priest and The Wailers.
The announcement was made a short while ago during the pre-awards show ceremony being live streamed on the grammys.com website.
The 63rd annual Grammy awards will broadcast live on CBS tonight at 8 p.m eastern.
