Assault rife and ammunition seized in Westmoreland

Members of the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) seized an AK47 rifle and six rounds of ammunition during an operation in Race Track, Little London, Westmoreland on Monday.

Police reports are that between the hours of 3:40 p.m. and 7:20 p.m., cops were on operation in the area when the firearm and ammunition were found wrapped in a transparent plastic bag.

No arrest was made in connection with the seizure.

Investigations continue.
