Man charged in connection with illegal gun found in ceiling

Twenty-five-year-old Tourenio Douglas of Penwood Road in Kingston 11 has been and arrested and charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, following a seizure on White Lane in the parish on Thursday, March 11.

Reports from the Hunts Bay police are that about 3:30 p.m., lawmen were conducting operations in the area, when a premises occupied by Douglas and a woman was searched.

During the search of the premises, Douglas who was seen hiding inside a room; was accosted, searched and one magazine containing fourteen 9mm rounds of ammunition was found in his possession.

A further search was conducted and one 9mm Browning pistol was found in the ceiling of the house.

Douglas was subsequently arrested and charged following a question and answer session.

His court date is being finalised.
