Online portal to register for COVID vaccination up and running
The Ministry of Health and Wellness is reporting that its online registration portal went live this morning at 10 o'clock.
The registration, which is open to persons 75 years and older, is now available on the ministry’s website at www.moh.gov.jm.
Persons may also register by phone at the COVID-19 Vaccine Hotline by calling 888-ONE-LOVE (888-663-5683).
The public is being reminded that only persons 75 years and older are allowed to register at this time, as we move into the next phase of inoculating the vulnerable population.
On the day of the vaccination appointment, persons will be permitted to have one (1) caregiver with them.
Additionally, persons will be required to present a valid Government issued ID, or a letter from a Justice of the Peace (JP) to verify their age.
Persons younger than 75 years are being urged not to attempt to use the website to register at this time, unless they are assisting a member of the 75 year old cohort.
The Health Ministry says the inoculation of healthcare workers, JDF and JCF personnel will also continue during this period.
The Ministry has reiterated that even while the vaccination plan is being rolled out, the population is being encouraged to continue to wear a mask, maintain physical distance of at least six feet, exercise frequent handwashing, stay home if they are ill and adhere to all the protocols under the Disaster Risk Management Act.
