Social media personality Ivany gets new court date

Internet sensation Ivany Wright who is facing a charge of larceny by trick, is scheduled to reappear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on May 12.

The new date was set today when the matter was mentioned before Chief Parish Judge Chester Crooks, however Wright along with her co-accused Kimberley Benjamin, who are both in custody, were not in court.

Wright is being charged with larceny by trick, and Benjamin charged with conspiracy to larceny by trick.

According to allegations, on the night of November 6, 2020, the two accused along with two complainants who are Wright’s friends, went to a local restaurant when she asked to use their phones to take pictures.

It is alleged that she left where the group was seated with their phones, went outside and had not been seen since.

The complainants state Wright and Benjamin stole an iPhone XR and an iPhone 11 pro-max.

Wright, 22, also has another matter at the St Ann’s Bay Parish Court, answering to charges of fraudulent conversion.
