Veronica Lawrence, whose son Dwayne Christopher Scott was one of the three men killed by gunmen in Crowder district, Westmoreland, on Wednesday, says that he was a reformed troublemaker who was doing construction work.

Scott, known in his community as 'Rubbish Heap', was murdered along with Chrissel 'Enoch' Hudson, 36, a carpenter, also of Crowder district, and Okeem 'Red Bull' Bent, tiler of Burnt Savanna district.

"Him use to give pure trouble an' thief people things, and everytime the yard full a police and soldier. But since of late mi naw hear nobody come a complain about him, so a don't know what him do this time," Lawrence said. She told THE WEEKEND STAR that the nightmare happened about 10:30 p.m.

"Mi know seh a mi son dem come fah because dem just keep on a ask everyone seh 'A weh di boy Rubbish Heap deh'?" Lawrence said. "Di man dem come from di direction of the road an di first person dem kill a Enoch. Den dem come inna the yard an go a di front house and murder Red Bull." The gunmen then made their way to the house where Lawrence was staying.

"Mi son hide underneath di bed but dem still find him an shoot him," she said. Hudson's sister, Kadian, described him as hard-working man who was only focused on caring for his five children.

"When mi hear the heap a gunshot dem a fire, mi text him phone and ask him if him hear what a gwan, but him never reply. All this time mi neva know seh him gone out a di shop, and it looks like wen him a come back di man dem back him up an shoot him," she said. The Grange Hill police said that they have not yet identified a motive.
