Nicholas Pusey, a 24-year-old Harbour View, St Andrew, man, says he is now living in fear as he believes he is being unfairly linked to a murder committed in Melbrook Heights, a community overlooking Harbour View, last Wednesday.

The police say that Everton Peart, 56, a landscaper of Caribbean Terrace in Harbour View, was shot multiple times by his attacker.

A video has emerged of a man, believed to be the murderer, firing shots into the head of Peart as he lay bloodied on the road. The shooter, who is thought to be the one who recorded the video, had a tattoo on his right hand.

The concerned Pusey told THE STAR that his life has been turned upside down since the disturbing video began making its way around.

Superintendent Tommie-Lee Chambers, head of the Kingston East Police Division, said that the police have not released any name of any person of interest in the case. Chambers also said the name Nicholas Pusey is not on their radar.

"Mi did a hear some rumours but mi never tek it serious; but a day after mi see the video a my name start call," Pusey said.

The man said that he has not been in the area for quite some time and finds it troubling that he is being linked to the incident.

"Mi fraid fi get lock up fi supn mi nuh do. Anybody would a fraid! When yuh do something and yuh know within urself say yuh do it and yuh can condition yu mind, but mi cyah tek no fall suh. Pusey said that he is hoping to clear his name so that his life can return to normal. He said that he is now in an uncomfortable place.

"Yuh just feel like say yuh a guh dead anytime - yuh caah eat, caah sleep! About four days now mi nuh eat. All mi a do a smoke and drink," Pusey said.
