Man charged for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition

The St Andrew North Police have arrested and charged a man in relation to an incident that occurred in Goulbourne district, Lawrence Tavern in on Sunday, February 14, 2021.

Charged with shooting with intent and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition is 22-year-old Wavell Reid of Rose Hall district, Lawrence Tavern.

Reports are that about 3:50 p.m., the complainant was pounced upon by three armed men who opened fire at him. He escaped unhurt.

On Tuesday, April 20, 2021, Reid was apprehended in the Rose Hall district on an operation.

On Wednesday, April 27, a question-and-answer interview was conducted with him in the presence of his attorney.

On Friday, May 7, 2021, he was placed on an identification parade where he was pointed out and subsequently charged.

The search continues for the other suspects.
