Gang activities suspected in Gordon Town killings
"There is no child in Gordon Town to Craig Hill who don't get excited whenever they see 'Demi'," said Nichole, the older sister of 30-year-old businessman Demoy 'Demi' Foster, who was shot and killed on Tuesday.
Nichole said that her brother, a father of one, was loved by everyone in his St Andrew community and also shared a very close relationship with his six siblings.
"He is always smiling, always joyful. He is someone who always seek to help the youths in the area. I don't know of anyone that hate him like that, but from his mother died (in 2016 from cancer) and he met his son's mother, his life changed," she said. "As a brother, he was loving, but he gave me a lot of talking as the younger one. There is seven of us, but all of us all very close. When wi go bush, he would pick mangoes and shoot bird. He wasn't someone who gave anyone trouble."
When contacted by THE STAR a representative of the police's Corporate Communications Unit said that a high-level probe has commenced into the shooting that also claimed the life of Raymond Palmer, 27, while injuring another two persons.
The police say that about 5:20 p.m., the men were among a group of persons on the road, when they were attacked by men who opened fire hitting them. The police were summoned and the victims were taken to the hospital where Palmer and Foster were pronounced dead.
There are rumours that the murders are linked to gang-related activities, but Nichole is adamant that her brother was a businessman who was a father to everybody.
"He was not in trouble, him never kill nobody or anything. We don't know what happened or what is the reason for anyone to attack him like this. Him even buy bike for some of the youth dem in the area because the bike taxi thing a gwan well since the road break away last year. This is just sad and shocking," she said.
