Five more COVID-19 deaths, 122 new cases

Five more COVID-19 deaths have been recorded in Jamaica, increasing the tally to 1163.

Those who have died are:

  • A 75-year-old female from St James.
  • An 84-year-old female from St James.
  • A 49-year-old male from KSA.
  • A 74-year-old female from St James.
  • 71-year-old female from St Catherine.

*One of the cases was previously under investigation

Meanwhile, there were 122 new cases with ages ranging from 36 days to 93 years, pushing the total to 51,404 with 3,136 being active.

Of the new cases, 57 are men and 65 are women.

A total of 2,257 tests were conducted.

The country's positivity rate stands at 16.1%.

In the meantime, there were 27 more recoveries, increasing the total to 46,751.

Some 111 persons are in hospital with 28 being moderately ill and 11 critically ill.
