733 new COVID cases, three more deaths

Jamaica on Sunday recorded 733 new COVID-19 cases from 1,921 samples tested, increasing total confirmed cases to 80,406 with 27,137 being active.

This brings the country's positivity rate to 39.8%.

Of the new cases, 417 are women and 309 are men with ages ranging from newborn to 101 years.

Meanwhile, three more Jamaicans have died as a result of COVID-19, pushing the death tally to 1,794. 

The decesaed include, a 71-year-old man from St Thomas, and a 49-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man both from St Mary.

In the meantime, there were 144 more recoveries, bringing that total to 50,931.

Some 721 persons are in hospital with 154 being moderately ill, 100 severley ill and 43 critically ill.
