Vaccination at Mandeville Regional Hospital impacted by absent portable toilets

The absence of portable toilets has impacted COVID-19 vaccinations at the Mandeville Regional Hospital in Manchester. 

Persons who visited the vaccination site this morning were told that no vaccines would be administered as a result of the issue.   

The toilets were removed yesterday evening.

Medical officer of health for the parish Dr Nadine Williams did not disclose the reason for the removal but indicated that there was an issue with the supplier.

"There was a matter with the supplier and they took it up and that's all I can say."

She said the hospital is expecting new toilets today but remains unsure as to when the supplier will have them delivered to the site.

"We can't proceed without having that for the patients. That was something that happened yesterday evening so we didn't have time to sort it out properly. So we are not sure what time the portable toilets will come to the site."

She said the hospital is the only affected site and that vaccination is ongoing at the Mandeville Comprehensive Clinic.
