All hell broke loose at the Shekinah Temple Church of Jesus Christ in Long Bay, St James, on Sunday, after an alleged Kingston-based pastor disrupted the afternoon service .

Shekinah Temple's pastor, Jeremy Thompson, told THE STAR that the 'visiting pastor', who said he is a prophet, claimed that he was given a vision to gather pastor Kevin O. Smith's stray flock.

Smith was the leader of Pathways International Kingdom Restoration Ministries in Montego Bay, St James. Two persons were murdered in his church last month, allegedly at his instruction, in what is believed to be acts of human sacrifice. Smith, who was arrested by the police, died in a motor vehicle crash while being transported to Kingston to be charged with murder.

Thompson told THE STAR that he is not affiliated with the Pathways International Kingdom Restoration Ministries or Smith. He said that they had just made an altar call when he noticed a woman and a man both waiting outside.

"I thought they were visitors to my church so I invited the woman inside and I noticed that the man was following her. So I explained that based on the COVID-19 protocols only the female could enter," he said. But Thompson said that the man still ventured inside and told him that he was the woman's "covering". Thompson said the man identified himself as 'Prophet Dr Watson'.

"I said where is your ministry, and he said they were from Kingston, and the Lord had given me a mandate to come to Montego Bay in search of the scattered flock of His Excellency Kevin Smith," Thompson said. He said the alleged clergyman claimed that the Lord instructed him that he could seek refuge at the church and that the Lord also gave him a word to speak.

"I was shocked when he said the Lord is showing him where there is a split in the ministry, meaning my church, and that some from my church broke away," he said.

"I said to him, frankly speaking you are not a prophet of God, and what you are actually doing, you are releasing strange fire in my church. You are releasing diabolical words that can affect the members, so I have to stop you."

"I want to make it quite clear. I don't know that man Kevin Smith, I have never gone to his place, he has never come to my ministry, I have never spoken to him. I have never seen him in person, so we here we are no way connected to His Excellency, not even by a long shot," Thompson said.

Attempts to contact 'Prophet Dr Watson' proved futile yesterday. However, in a video that has been posted on social media, he said that he was led to Montego Bay by God, who has instructed him to shut down some churches.

"The Lord tell me Him a guh send me a Jamaica to shut down many churches. Many churches will be shut down," he bellowed while on the compound of Shekinah Temple Church on Sunday.

"God a send me guh a many churches guh lock dem down. ... The Lord seh they are worshipping man and not God. Repent! Repent! Repent!"

Videos of 'Prophet Dr Watson' at Smith's Pathways International on Sunday have also emerged on social media. In one of the videos, he said that he was sent by the Lord to do his work. He noted that while only four of them were in the sanctuary, four is "the number of resurrection".
