Triple killing in St James

January 11, 2022

Three men were shot and killed in Providence Heights, St James, on Monday night.

The police have not yet released the identities of the men, but it is believed that they are from the Corporate Area. Reports by the police are that shortly after 9 p.m., the men travelled to Providence Heights in a taxi motor car, which operates within the Half-Way Tree area in St Andrew.

It is further reported that on reaching the community, the men met with a group of men who were travelling in another motor car, and minutes later gunshots were heard coming from the location. Residents summoned the police and upon arrival, the three men were discovered suffering from gunshot wounds inside the vehicle. The scene was processed and they were transported to hospital where they were pronounced dead.

One police source told THE STAR that the three victims may have been involved in an illegal deal with men from St James, when the deal went sour and they were shot.

This is the second fatal shooting incident in St James over the past three days. Another incident occurred in the Lilliput community last Saturday, where four persons including a female were shot. One person later died at hospital.
