A 15-year-old student who ran away from her home in St James more than six months ago, and her boyfriend were discovered shot to death in a house in Roehampton in the parish on Wednesday morning.

The teen, Toni-Ann Antoinette Reid, and Oshane Spence, 25, were murdered in their four-apartment home at Holiday Rock, in the Roehampton community. Albert Reid, Toni-Ann's dad told THE STAR that when his daughter left home, he had no idea that she was still in Roehampton.

All mi deh pass mi daughter fi weeks an months an neva know seh a she, because she change up har self, and she see mi an a hide mi," said Reid. "Mi couldn't even recognise mi own daughter how she change up herself, how she bleach out and him get slim." He lamented that his daughter did not heed his warning to stay away from Spence who he believes was a troublemaker.

"Mi nuh know mi head from mi foot right now, and wha hot mi most of all is that Toni-Ann go get harself involve wid dis yah boy yah," he said. "Mi even tell mi daughter one time after mi hear seh she involve wid him, mi say 'mi daughter mi hear seh him involve inna wrongs, don't get involve wid him, stay a yuh yard'. And mi cah believe seh mi daughter run weh, an end up right yah suh wid di same yuth who mi warn har bout."

Reid said that he struggled as a single dad as his children's mother left him to raise them.

"A mi comb fi har hair, send har go school fi months till mi madda help mi. It hurt mi fi know seh mi comb my daughter hair, send har go a school, as a man mi tek up that deh responsibly deh, and now fi come find mi daughter dead inna bed wid man weh mi talk to har bout, an him nuh ready fi man yet cause him a just 15," he cried.

Reid said he begged Toni-Ann for months to come home. "The last time mi talk to him a before Christmas, and him sey 'daddy mi a come home, Christmas mi come look fi unnuh."

Reports are that shortly after 2:30 a.m., Toni-Ann and Spence were at home when men armed with high-powered guns kicked open a back door to the house. They entered the bedroom and sprayed both victims with bullets, killing them on the spot.

Investigators told THE STAR that Spence has been on the police radar for some time and was picked up for questioning on numerous occasions in relation to a number of criminal activities in the community.

The police also stated that so far they have not come up with a motive for the double murder, which comes on the heels of a triple murder in the parish on Monday night, another murder on Tuesday morning. Another man was killed on Wednesday afternoon. St James has seen 10 murders so far in 2022.
