The Cambridge police are carrying out an investigation into the murder of a man whose body was found in a rubbish heap in Montpelier, St James, on Wednesday.

The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Brandon Doman, otherwise called 'Barrington' a mechanic of Montpelier. Reports by the Cambridge police are that about 2 a.m., residents reported hearing gunshots coming from a section of the community and alerted them. Upon the arrival of the lawmen, Doman was discovered barefooted, clad in only his underpants and merino, lying face down in rubbish. He had multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was transported to the Cornwall Regional hospital where he died while undergoing treatment about 7:30 a.m.

It is believed that Doman was at a house in the community when gunmen forced their way inside the dwelling. He allegedly ran from the house but the gunmen caught up with him along the roadway and opened gunfire, hitting him, before escaping in the area. The scene was revisited and processed by detectives attached to the Anchovy and Cambridge police stations.

One investigator told THE WEEKEND STAR that the police have not yet come up with a motive for this latest killing.

"We believe [it] could have stemmed from a feud between men from the community of Montpelier," the officer stated. "But it is still early days yet and the police are hoping to make headway into their investigation by the end of this week." Doman is the 37th person to be killed in St James since the start of the year.
