Carpenter charged in alleged murder plot
Detectives assigned to the St Andrew South Police Division have arrested and charged a carpenter with conspiracy to commit murder following an attack on a businessman.
Anthony Fisher, 32, of Johns Lane, Kingston CSO, is also charged with wounding with intent and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, following an incident in Tavares Gardens, Kingston 11, on January 22.
The police report that about 10:30 p.m., the victim was opening his business place when he was approached by a lone man armed with a firearm, who opened gunfire hitting him multiple times to the upper body. The injured man ran and collapsed along the roadway. He was taken to hospital where he was admitted in a serious condition.
The car that was used in the attack was tracked and Fisher was found in the said vehicle identified at the scene of the crime. He was arrested and his cellular phone was seized and sent to the police's Communications Forensics and Cybercrime Division for analysis, which uncovered confidential material plotting the attack on the victim. Fisher was charged following a question- and-answer interview. His court date is being finalised.
