Domestic dispute leaves stepfather dead

The police yesterday arrested a Portland man for stabbing to death of his stepfather during a domestic dispute in the farming community of Nonsuch, Portland.

Early reports from police sources have confirmed that Antonio Hutchinson was involved in a dispute with his common-law partner, when her son intervened.

Hutchinson, who reportedly had too much to drink, went home and allegedly attacked the woman with a knife in her sleep-stabbing her in the stomach at about 11:55 pm Thursday.

The woman woke up and ran out of the house screaming, which attracted her son, who was next door.

Eyewitnesses say the son and his stepfather became embroiled in a fight, during which the stepfather was stabbed multiple times.

He was rushed to the Port Antonio hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The stepson was arrested while at the hospital.

His mother has since been transferred to the Kingston Public hospital in a critical state.
