Disgusting photo of penis beside ex-girlfriend’s mouth lands man in hot water
A Kingston woman got the shock of her life when she checked her ex-boyfriend's WhatsApp status and saw a photo of his exposed penis next to her face as she slept in her bed.
The woman was alerted to the presence of the photo by her ex-boyfriend following a late night disagreement.
It was reported that the man, who confessed to committing the act, and the complainant were in a relationship from March to December 2021. However, up to February 1, this year, the man would sleep at the complainant's home. They had a disagreement on that night, about 11 p.m. Almost an hour later, the complainant received a voice note on her cell phone from the man, telling her to check his WhatsApp status. The complainant noticed a picture of herself sleeping with the man's exposed penis beside her mouth.
Following a report to the police, the man was arrested and charged. He pleaded guilty to using a computer for malicious communication in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court and has been ordered to make compensation of $200,000 to the complainant.
However, when he appeared in court empty-handed on Wednesday, Senior Parish Judge Lori-Ann Cole-Montague ordered him locked up. On Thursday, one of his relatives took $100,000 as part payment to the complainant. The 40-year-old man said that his night spent in custody was "rough".
The judge responded: "It was rough? So you will learn now not to play with this court. I am happy we have that understanding now. Look at that, one night and $100,000 from the man who came before me with his two long hands. Maybe if I gave you another night, the other $100,000 will come," Cole-Montague stressed.
When asked by the judge if she was aware of the offence, the relative agreed that his actions were disgusting.
"It is shameful," the senior judge expressed.
The man's bail was restored and he is expected to return to court on March 23 with the remaining $100,000.
