Seven shot, three fatally in Hanover

The Hanover police are hunting for clues into last night's triple murder in Santoy district, Logwood in the parish.

Four other men were injured when gunmen posing as customers opened fire at them at a supermarket.

The murdered men have been identified:

1. Michael Smith, 55, construction worker of Logwood, Hanover 

2. Mark Austin, 37, construction worker of Orange Bay, Hanover

3. Omar Mahabee, 43, otherwise called 'Ripe Peg' businessman of Orange Bay Road, Logwood, Hanover

The police say shortly after 8 p.m, Mahabee, Austin, and Smith were installing surveillance cameras at the D and K Supermarket in Santoy Square when four attackers posing as customers walked in. 

They reportedly pulled handguns and opened fire hitting the workmen and other persons near the entrance of the supermarket. 

Two of the gunmen also reportedly chased some of the victims to the rear of the supermarket and shot them

The injured victims were rushed to the Noel Holmes Hospital in Lucea, where Austin, Smith and Mahabee, were pronounced dead.

The four others were treated and admitted in serious condition.
