Ak-47 seized in Kingston East

The cops say an AK-47 assault rifle with a magazine containing two 7.62 cartridges was found yesterday during operations in the Kingston East division.

Reports say that on Sunday, March 20, at 5:50 p.m., a garage on Mountain View Avenue, Kingston 3 was searched.

 The rifle and the magazine were found wrapped in a bag beneath a container.

No arrest was made.

That was the second seizure of a high-powered weapon recorded yesterday.

Earlier, one Hebron KY AM-15 multiple calibre M16 rifle and a magazine containing thirty-four 5.56 cartridges were seized in the Dunkirk Community.

One man was arrested after the weapon was found beneath the floor of his bedroom.

His identity is being withheld at this time.
