Gun seized in Kingston

One Smith and Wesson semi-automatic pistol and a magazine containing twelve 9mm cartridges were seized by the St Andrew South Police Division Crime Band team during a snap raid in Palm Grove Housing Scheme, Kingston 11, on Saturday.

The police said that about 11:20 p.m., lawmen were conducting an operation in the area when a group of men, upon seeing them, ran. The police gave chase and one man, 20-year-old Miguel Turner, was held. He was searched and the weapon with the ammunition was taken from his waistband.

He has been charged in relation to the seizure.
