Cops seize cocaine in Portland

Members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) say they have created another dent in the drugs for guns trade following the seizure of two kilograms of cocaine in Norwich district in Portland on Saturday.

Commanding officer for the Portland police division, Superintendent Kenneth Chin said that the substance was seized during a targeted raid carried out by the police in collaboration with the Area 2 narcotics police between 1 pm to 2 pm.

The cocaine which was seized weighs approximately two kilograms and has an estimated street value of $15 Million Jamaican Dollars, Chin added.

One female was arrested on reasonable suspicion of being in possession of cocaine.

Investigations are ongoing.
