UK-based communications company SMC has partnered with Jamaican teachers to offer free one-on-one tutoring to students from Jamaica, the United Kingdom, and South Africa, the company announced.

In a released statement, the group said SMC Teach was designed to help students whose learning has been affected by the current raging COVID-19 pandemic.

“The SMC Group/Hamilton Family has a long history of giving back to the community. While life may have changed the way we do it, our commitment still remains the same," Maurice Hamilton, group CEO.

The initiative, which features locally trained teachers,  gives students a chance to discuss issues they are having with Math, English, and science-based subjects for up to two hours per week.

SMC Teach started on Monday, July 11, and will run up until August 26.
