Accused ordered to relocate

Symone Harrison, the 33-year-old woman charged with the murder of her children's father, was offered bail in the sum of $400,000 on Tuesday in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.

However, a condition of her bail as outlined by Senior Parish Judge Lori-Anne Cole-Montaque is that the accused must relocate to Clarendon to live with a relative.

It is alleged that on August 12 about 11:30 p.m., Simmonds went to Harrison's house where he saw that their two children had been left alone. When Harrison arrived, an argument developed and it is alleged that Simmonds disconnected an empty cooking gas cylinder from the stove and tried to leave with it.

Another argument started, which became physical and it is alleged that Simmonds inflicted injuries to Harrison's right wrist and left arm. The court heard that Harrison then used a bottle shard to stab him in the left side of his neck. Simmonds was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

On a previous court appearance, Vincent Wellesley Senior, attorney-at-law representing Harrison, indicated to the court that she will argue self-defence.

Judge Cole-Montaque imposed a stop order and directed that Harrison report to the police twice weekly. The mother of three was ordered to surrender her travel documents.

The matter was adjourned until September 20, when it is set for mention.
