It's been days since World Cup favourites Brazil exited the competition, but the dejection suffered by the Samba fans is still fresh.

It was even more evident yesterday, during the semi-final between Brazil's arch-rival Argentina, and Croatia, the team that knocked out the Brazilians. While the fans of the 'Albiceleste' revelled in the Croatian defeat, the Samba fans were not entirely pleased.

"Football make me vex! Brazil disappoint me man! With the likkle eediot bwoy name Tite, wah kinda idiot change him make?" long-time Brazil supporter Clement Morgan whined after Argentina's Julian Alvarez scored their second goal in the 39th minute. The Argentines eventually ran out 3-0 winners. Argentina will battle either Morocco or France for the championship. Those nations play the second semi-final today.

"A chu you deeven know, enuh, right now me deeven feel good, enuh. Mi a look pon TV and come een like, oh Jah Jah Jah... ," he said trailing off.

Last Friday, Brazil suffered a 4-2 defeat on penalties to Croatia, ending their chances of going home with the coveted cup, leaving thousands of Jamaicans downtrodden. But some were still vocal.

"A one Brazil same way!" one die-hard fan chanted in downtown Kingston. While many were dejected after the Argentines claimed their place in the final, some Brazil fans applauded the idea of the cup returning to South America.

"Mi like how Argentina gwaan, enuh. We nah take nothing from them, the ball round, the ball nuh live a nuh man yard, and me is a real Brazilian, enuh, mi anuh 'banwagon'," said one fan, proudly touting his yellow jersey amid the sea of blue and white.

"The first two pickney them weh me get them have Brazil name, Romario and Bebeto, and them used to call me Zico. So I am a real Brazilian fan. When me get seven (from Germany in 2014), me bawl, enuh. So me get send home and me just feel happy now fi Argentina a come carry the battle. So just, hopefully, this Sunday, them can take it home because if them cyah beat Mbappe (France striker) or Morocco, them salt," he added.

Morgan, while still mourning the almost week-old loss, told THE STAR, "Neymar call Messi last night (Monday night)! Him say me gone home, so you haffi carry the cup come back a South America."
