Ex NCB employee implicated in fraud granted bail

Khadene Thomas, the former National Commercial Bank (NCB) employee implicated in a multi-million fraud at the bank was today granted bail in the sum of $5 million.

Thomas, who is accused of fleecing a little over $43 million from customer’s accounts, was offered bail in the St Ann Parish Court on conditions that she surrenders her travel documents and reports to the police.

She is to return to court on May 10, following the completion of a bail application which was partly heard last month.

The ex-employee was implicated in the matter following the alleged transfer of $5 million from a customer's account.

A new complainant is reported to have been identified.

In addition to the original charges of larceny, uttering forged documents forgery, and breach of the Cybercrimes Act, Thomas has also been charged with uttering false document and larceny as a servant.

The application was made by attorney-at-law Matthew Hyatt who is representing the accused along with his senior Bert Samuels.
