Judge scolds side chick in court
A self-confessed side chick was rebuked by a senior Corporate Area judge on Monday for allegedly bragging about her ability to lure her former lover Ricardo into her bedroom.
The woman, Andrea, is alleged to have been constantly harassing her ex-boyfriend's wife. On one occasion she reportedly told her, "Yuh man put yuh to bed and f**k me".
Senior Parish Judge Lori-Anne Cole-Montaque was startled when she heard the behaviour of the side chick.
The court heard that Andrea and Ricardo were in a relationship for six months in 2016. However, after the relationship ended, Ricardo found another partner who he eventually married. The old flames ended up in court after they were accused of injuring each other during a dispute. The court heard that sometime in December 2022, Andrea used a knife to cut Ricardo on the head. The man is alleged to have pushed his former lover, resulting in her sustaining injuries. As a result, Andrea was charged with unlawful wounding while Ricardo was arraigned for assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Both have denied the allegations against them.
Yesterday, Ricardo's wife told the court that Andrea has been making life difficult for her. It was at that point that Judge Cole-Montaque scolded the side chick for allegedly causing pain to another woman.
"Let me tell you something, anybody who feel that they can prosper from the tears of another person, it is only a matter of time before you get what is coming for you, if there is truth to it. You had your go with him, it might not have ended in the way you would've wanted it, but he has made his choice. This is his wife. You nuh supposed to a flare up so! Side chick nuh have badge of honour, you hear me?' the judge said.
Andrea tried to defend herself, sharing with the court that she was romantically involved with someone else when Ricardo approached her.
"Me tell him seh you see me with my people dem, what you want from me? Him seh true love never dies, and I said to him what you going to do with your woman when she find out, and him say we will cross that bridge when we reach it,"Andrea said.
Cole-Montaque described the situation as messy and referred the parties to mediation. They are expected to return to court on April 24, when the matter is set for mention.
