American national slapped with gun charges

Tricia Robinson, a hairdresser who resides in Fort Lauderdale in Florida, USA, was arrested and charged after she was found with an illegal firearm at the Sangster International Airport in St James on Tuesday.

The 46-year-old was charged with trafficking a prohibited weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of ammunition.

It is reported that about 2:30 p.m., Robinson, who also resides in South Sea Park in Whitehouse, Westmoreland, had just arrived in the Island and was in the process of clearing her luggage when a Beretta pistol fitted with six .32 rounds of ammunition was discovered.

The illegal weapon was seized and Robinson arrested and charged.
