Guyanese women arrested for cocaine at Sangster Airport

April 05, 2023

The police have arrested two Guyanese women after they were caught trying to smuggle 21 pounds of cocaine through the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James (MBJ).

The STAR understands the women were attempting to board a Virgin Atlantic flight leaving from MBJ to London in the United Kingdom.

The contraband was found in their checked luggage during a routine check.

It is not clear if the women were using Jamaica as a transshipment port or were visitors to the island.
