Fisherman allegedly chops man in dispute
The police in St Thomas have charged a fisherman with wounding with intent following an incident in the Bamboo River area of Morant Bay on April 3.
Reports from the Morant Bay police are that about 5 p.m., Stephan Chisholm, 24, and another man had an altercation during which Chisholm used a machete to chop the man on the right shoulder. The man sought the assistance of the police and made a report. Chisholm was subsequently arrested and charged.
The St Thomas police also laid weapons charges on a man following an incident on April 1. Twenty-four-year-old Trevon Johnson, otherwise called 'Patto', of Port Morant, was arrested and charged with assault at common-law and possession of prohibited weapon following an incident at his home. Reports are that about 9:30 p.m., a man was standing at his gate, when he was approached by Johnson, who allegedly pointed a firearm at him. A report was made to the police and he was arrested and charged. His court date is being finalised.
