Magnitude 4.6 earthquake rocks Jamaica

KINGSTON, Jamaica, Apr. 16, CMC – An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.6 rocked sections of Jamaica on Saturday afternoon.

According to a report from the US Geological Survey, the tremor was felt at approximately  4:35 p.m. (local time), with the epicentre located offshore about 43 kilometres east of the capital city, Kingston.

Residents as far west as the parish of St. Elizabeth reported feeling the tremor.

The quake reportedly also affected Haiti, the United States Minor Outlying Islands and Cuba.

There were no reports of damage or injuries.
