Father charged with daughter’s killing

A man who allegedly stabbed his 17-year-old daughter, Shedeque Calvert, to death has been charged with murder.

The teen was stabbed at her home on Barry Street, Kingston, on April 2. Her father, 39-year-old Terrence Calvert, a factory worker of Barry Street in Kingston, allegedly used knife to inflict a wound to her chest following a dispute at their home. He then fled the scene but was arrested after he was taken to the hospital when he was found unconscious with his throat and both wrists slashed on April 4.

The father was treated while under police guard and was subsequently charged after a question-and-answer session.
