Police charge 28-y-o in murder case

The police have slapped 28-year-old Shane McKenzie, a resident from Wildman Street in Kingston, with several charges after he's allegedly a part of a team that shot and killed a man earlier this month. 

He was charged with murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition and using a firearm to commit a felony.

Dead is of 27-year-old Oniel West otherwise called 'Mad Max' of Smith Lane, Kingston.

According to the Central Police, about 11:25 a.m. on April 5, West was walking along the roadway when he was approached by McKenzie and another man who had a brief conversation with him.

It is alleged that the men open gunfire at West killing him. An investigation was launched and McKenzie was arrested on Saturday, April 15— he was charged on Monday, April 24 after he underwent a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.

His court date has not been finalised.
