Reggae Sumfest's 30th anniversary logo will be displayed on one of Caribbean Airlines' new Boeing 737-8 aircraft as organisers ramp up activities ahead of this summer's renewal of the festival.

The regional carrier recently inked a two-year deal with Downsound Entertainment to be a presenting sponsor of Reggae Sumfest. This year's staging, dubbed The Return, is scheduled for July 16-22 in Montego Bay, St James.

"The installation of the Reggae Sumfest 30th anniversary logo on Caribbean Airlines's 737 [aircraft] is a matter of pride for us as it will announce our partnership at all gateways the jet enters and celebrate an important element of regional unity," said Reggae Sumfest promoter Joe Bogdanovich.

Reggae Sumfest and Caribbean Airlines signed a three-year deal in 2019, but it was paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 30-year-old festival was forced to make significant adjustments due to lockdown measures imposed by the Government to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, which caused COVID-19. The event was held virtually in 2020 and the 2021 edition was cancelled. Reggae Sumfest returned in 2022 and was titled 'The Rebirth'.

Garvin Medera, CEO of Caribbean Airlines, said the partnership with Downsound Entertainment gives the regional carrier an opportunity to share in the promotion of a very important cultural event and to share the best of the Caribbean with the world.

"We are thrilled to once again be the presenting partner of Reggae Sumfest, one of the most iconic events in the Caribbean, especially as the promoters celebrate the 30th anniversary," said Medera.

Reggae Sumfest 2023 promises to be a spectacular showcase of Caribbean music, entertainment, food, and culture. With Caribbean Airlines' support as the presenting sponsor, the festival is set to attain even greater heights, and will be infused with more excitement, energy, and international attention to Montego Bay, Jamaica, and the entire Caribbean region.
