Clarendon man charged with uncle's murder

The police say they have charged 32-year-old Clarendon resident James Clair with the murder of his uncle Douglas Clair, following an altercation in November 2022. 

Police reports say that on the day in question, the now deceased – 46-year-old Douglas was behaving boisterously, making death threats and wielding his machete at residents.

Shortly after, he was pounced upon by several residents, who inflicted multiple stab and chop wounds to him.

The Police were alerted and he was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Following intense investigations, James was arrested on Friday, April 28 and charged on Tuesday, May 3 following an interview in the presence of his attorney.

His court date is being arranged.
