24-y-o farmer charged following alleged shootout with police
Twenty-four-year-old farmer Maxan Thompson otherwise called ‘Masika’, was arrested and charged following an alleged shootout with the police in Browns Hall, St. Catherine.
Thompson, who is a farmer, was charged with shooting with intent, possession of prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony
According to the Spanish Town police, about 12:30 p.m. on April 17, 2023, lawmen were on patrol in the area, when Thompson opened gunfire at them.
The officers managed to escape injury and Thompson eluded them.
He was later arrested during an operation and subsequently charged. His court date is being finalised.
