The Portland police are on the hunt for clues into the death of a farmer whose charred, decomposing body was found in the bushes of Buff Bay, in the parish over the weekend.
He has been identified as that of 62-year-old Joseph Powell, a farmer of Spring Garden district, Buff Bay in the parish.
The police report that about 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Powell's charred remains was discovered by a resident, who was passing by a hut and alerted them.
Investigators said that upon their arrival, the body was seen lying face down in a state of decomposition. The body was later removed to the morgue for post-mortem.
