Taximan accused to stabbing spouse to death remanded

May 18, 2023

Kevon Leslie, the Manchester taxi operator accused of stabbing his common-law-wife to death in the presence of her son and nephew, was remanded when he appeared in court today.

Submissions were set to be made on Leslie’s behalf by his Attorney Norman Godfrey, during today’s committal hearing in the Manchester parish court.

However, that was not possible, due to Godfrey’s inability to make it to the sitting. Leslie is expected to return to court on Wednesday May 24.

Allegations are that Leslie, 29, had a domestic dispute and he reportedly used a knife to stab the now deceased Shade Brown multiple times on March 10, 2023.

It was the Brown's 11-year-old son who reportedly alerted neighbours about what occurred, police reports say.

Brown was taken to the Mandeville Regional Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
