According to police, the two men who were seen in a viral video being picked up from the waters of the Kingston Harbour, offered only a simple sentiment for their being there; “nothin’ nah gwan a Jamaica.”

According to a report from the marine police, a team patrolled the Kingston Harbour about 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, when they came across the two men keeping a float with tubes.

The men, who declared themselves to be fishermen from the Port Royal area, were brought onboard the police vessel and searched. No weapon was found.

It is believed the men intended to stowaway on a ship, and take the three to ten day journey from the Kingston Harbour to the United States.

Commanding officer for the police’s marine division, Superintendent Robert Walker, is advising the public not to put their lives at risk stowing-away on boats. .

“The journey can prove detrimental to those who take it. Especially since they will be at sea for an extended period of time with little to no food and/or water,” Walker explained.
