Police seize illegal firearm in Linstead, man arrested

The Linstead police have arrested and charged a man following the seizure of an illegal gun in the Charlemont community.

According to police reports, about 11:00 a.m. on May 31, police personnel swooped down on the premises occupied by the suspect. 

A search was conducted during which a nine milli-metre semi automatic pistol was allegedly seized. 

The male suspect was subsequently taken into custody on suspicion  of possession of a prohibited weapon.

His name has being withheld pending a question and answer session with legal representation.
