Labourer charged after market attack

A St Ann labourer has been hit with several charges in relation to an incident in Brown's Town on May 6.
Verando Brown, 30, of Sturge Town in St Ann, has been charged with two counts of wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, as well as unauthorised possession of ammunition.
Reports are that about 6:30 a.m., Brown entered the market armed with a firearm and opened gunfire hitting two men multiple times. The police were alerted and the men were transported to hospital where they were admitted. An investigation was launched and Brown was arrested. He was charged following police questioning. His court date is being finalised.
