Two men who were held after breaking into and attempting to rob a bakery, threw themselves at the mercy of the judge when they appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court yesterday.

Demar Douglas and his co-accused Romar Goulbourne pleaded guilty to housebreaking with intent. The men, neither of whom was represented by an attorney, were apprehended by police in April 24 after they gained access to a bakery.

It is alleged that when the men were cautioned, Douglas allegedly said, "A peer pressure offica. I am always being looked down on."

Goulbourne, when cautioned, allegedly said," A mistake me mek offica. A true me have a son and another yute on the way."

However, despite the men's guilty plea, Senior Parish Judge Lori-Anne Cole-Montaque indicated that she did not intend to impose the court's sentence as yet, as she requested their criminal records. The men were made the subject of a fingerprint order and were remanded in custody until September 7.
