6-y-o raped

A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man who the police said was hired to work at the child's home in St Ann.

The frightening revelation was made by the police yesterday after detectives assigned to the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) charged a 51-year-old man for the abuse of the child.

The accused man, a mason, of Hamilton Mountain, St Mary, has been charged with two counts of rape and two counts of grievous sexual assault.

Reports are that on both occasions, was hired for work at the child's home, when he sexually assaulted and raped her. A report was made to the police and he was subsequently arrested and charged following an interview. His court date is being arranged.
