GEORGETOWN, Guyana, Jun 19, CMC – The police in Guyana are investigating the death of a 47-year-old Venezuelan man, who was allegedly stabbed to death on Sunday by his son during an argument over food at their home in Sophia, which is located on the outskirts of the capital.

Police said that the 20-year-old son of Eyone Hernandez had been arrested shortly after the incident and that the murder weapon, a knife, was also found in his possession.

The police said that the son and his father had an argument over food when he armed himself with the knife and allegedly stabbed his dad to the back of his left thigh.

A family member is reported to have raised an alarm and medical officials responded and later pronounced Hernandez dead. A post-mortem is expected to be done later this week.
