Manhunt launched for jail escapees
The St Elizabeth police have launched a manhunt for about eight prisoners who escaped from the Black River police lock-up on Monday morning.
The police say it was discovered that the men had escaped during their routine morning checks.
It is reported that between 3 a.m. to 4 a.m., a guard at the station carried out routine checks and discovered that the inmates inside one cells had escaped.
An alarm was raised and it was discovered that the prisoners cut their way through a ventilation system and fled.
